Airports
The Santa Barbara airport (SBA) is located a five-minute drive from campus and a 15-minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara. SBA is served by Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and United, with connections to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, Portland, and Seattle.
LAX is about 100 miles south of campus, a 90-minute to 2-hour drive. There is an airport shuttle, Santa Barbara Airbus, that runs periodically during the day. To coordinate driving to/from the airports and around the area, please use the shared transportation Google doc.
Train
Santa Barbara and Goleta both have Amtrak stops.
Hotels
Conference participants can book reduced rates at three local hotels, one in Goleta (where UCSB is located) and two in Santa Barbara. Because the conference is taking place over a holiday weekend, rates are higher than usual. We have set up a Google doc to allow people to coordinate shared housing if they would like, either at the conference hotels or elsewhere.
